Family challenges me to post a black & white photo everyday for 5 days.

Day #1. The illustrious Viva LasVegas

Women Who Inspire

BlackCat has been working with some local women fitness instructors who are very inspirational in their communities. Our first Woman Who Inspires is Ellen. She is a personal trainer, yoga instructor, youth sports coach and a fantastic person. She inspires people with her smile, her positive attitude and her upbeat energy.

She officially became a fitness instructor 11 years ago when she got waylayed while studying agriculture at Texas Tech. She also trained in wilderness survival and outdoor leadership. She teaches young athletes that sports are a metaphor for life and in that, to train like the person you want to become. She believes fitness is a life-long journey, full of victories and challenges just like life. We all want to feel empowered to make positive changes without changing who we are, and Ellen's job is to help her clients feel successful every step of the way.

Curvy Girl Boudoir

Learning how to pose and work with different women and different body types is an important part of being a boudoir and fashion photographer. It is a combination of both art, technical expertise and being present and spontaneous when appropriate. I have also learned to listen to my clients and to accentuate what they love best about their bodies and how to make certain parts less noticeable. I have learned how to flatter different shapes and sizes and to give enough direction to bring out the best in each of my clients. I will show you how to pose and always have enough levity and down time to help you feel absolutely comfortable and at ease during your session.

Danielle was a client who loves her curves. She was sassy, confident and comfortable in her body. It was also clear how much she loved her husband. The session was a present for her him for their 10 year anniversary. She wanted to make sure she we got shots that included his love of both playing and coaching soccer, in addition to more traditional boudoir. I think we did well.

We looking for FOUR female models 21+, no modeling experience needed!!! For both a fashion/glamour photo shoot and for a boudoir photo shoot. Your shoot would take place on a weekday between 10am and 3pm at our studio in Portland, Oregon. Fashion Boudoir

We had an incredible boudoir session a couple of weeks ago. We thought it might be fun to have the session a bit more fashion focused than traditional boudoir. We also decided to theme the session to have it be black and white in all ways: both clothing and final images. We were very fortunate to get to work with a Portland, Oregon local celebrity, Vivalas Vegas. We had a great time with the styling, including a really fun curl updo. Perhaps a fashion photo session might be a better fit for you than traditional boudoir? You could wear clothing you love in addition to a few pieces of lingerie. Or you could simply have a fashion/glamour session...think about it.

It's All About The Fit

Take your time and get fitted by the professionals, your bessie mate guessing in the changing room doesn't count, gals. Ideally you should have a fitting every six months, but if that doesn't work for you then look out for the tell tale signs. The experts at Chantelle tell us that when the following issues start happening you are long overdue a lingerie makeover:

- If you notice your bra is always slipping off your shoulder, you need a smaller back size.

- If you ever wear a bra that makes your breasts bulge out and has underwire that cuts into your skin, or if the centre piece is standing away from the body, you need a bigger cup size - and pronto.

- If the cups look wrinkled or the underwire is too big, you need a smaller cup size.

- Finally, look out for the back of your bra being in line with the front for the best fit, and it needs to be fastened on the loosest hook for the ideal fit.

Queen Bey wears relatively new brand on the block, Bordelle, that's who. The brand specialises in combining both bondage and beauty with high fashion. Of course Mrs Carter would be a fan of such a unique concept. Think body con silhouettes with a technique that customizes satin elastic bands to create pieces that have an 'S&M' feel about them. But it's not all kinky fits, for SS14 look out for French embroidered lace, Swarovski crystals and couture finishes.

What's Sexy?

“Sexy” is infinite and means something different to everyone. Some find accessories like jewelry and socks sexy. Others find “sexy” in the soft contour of a women’s neck or in the gentle curve of a wrist. Some say wearing their partner’s clothes is as sexy as it gets! Still, some find “sexy” in simple things like a love note from a Valentine.
